Rowdytown was one of the best nights of the summer for sure. An epic lineup, beautiful weather, a pumped up parking lot, and a sold out amphitheater all culminated in an undeniably unforgettable evening. Westword even voted Rowdytown as ‘The Best EDM Show of 2012′ and we can’t think of many reasons to argue. Can Big G top themselves in 2013? That I suppose remains to be seen, but Im supremely confident that next year will see a Rowdytown event like none other. Check the recap video from 2012 above and try not to get too excited, next August is like 9 months away.
The first release from the highly anticipated GRiZ-Gramatik collaboration entitled “Digital Liberation is Mad Freedom” has finally been released for free download! If you caught Gramatik’s recent show at The Fillmore in Denver, or if you have already seen their collab hype video, then you’ve probably already heard it, but now it’s finally available for your listening pleasure 24/7! Cheers!
PLM artist Gramatik will be debuting his new stage production, dubbed “The Coil”, at his headlining show at The Fillmore Auditorium tomorrow with Talib Kweli and Mux Mool. Exactly what ‘The Coil’ is, we do not know, but hints on his facebook lead us to believe it has something to do with the Tesla Coil, an invention of the master of AC current Nikola Tesla, and an incredible spectacle to behold. If this is indeed a real Tesla coil, I can’t imagine the logistics of making it safe for touring with all the metal and wiring that is usually involved in a typical lighting rig.
